VIDEO: We Will Be Considered One of the Most Naive Peoples in the World, Osakanian

Why are the tools in our arsenal not being used regarding the issue of Artsakh? Have the authorities decided to hand over Artsakh to Azerbaijan? Is this really the capability of our leaders, is this their imagination? Former Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Osakanian stated this during a live broadcast on his Facebook page.

“Have these authorities placed us in a naive position, or are they the naive ones? Believe me, if we voluntarily hand over Artsakh to Azerbaijan, we will be considered one of the most naive peoples in the world. Since the collapse of the USSR, there have been 50 self-determination issues on the international agenda. None of those peoples have willingly renounced that right. We will be the first to voluntarily abandon that right and hand over Artsakh to Azerbaijan,” Osakanian emphasized.

“Moreover, I should say that there are currently over 120 autonomous regions in more than 50 countries around the world. There are various statuses one can have; however, this issue needs to be raised, it needs to be brought back to the agenda. Handing over Artsakh to Azerbaijan cannot bring peace. If Pashinyan goes and signs that document, he is sowing the seeds of future conflicts. He will place that burden on the next generations,” Osakanian concluded.
