Ukrainian Army to be Supplemented with Turkish-Made Howitzers in the Near Future
On July 6, Brigadier General Alexey Gromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about the acquisition of new weapons in an interview with a Ukrainian news outlet.
Gromov specifically noted that the Ukrainian army will soon be reinforced with Turkish-made T-155 Fırtına howitzers. “Currently, the supply of new systems such as Archer and Fırtına, which are not yet used in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is expected,” said the Ukrainian official, as reported by Ermenihaber.am.
It should be noted that the aforementioned howitzer can fire three rounds at targets located 8-25 km away within 15 seconds. After completing a combat task, it can change its firing position in 30 seconds and can be reloaded with 48 new shells within 20 seconds.
