Iran's Foreign Minister's Post After Meeting with Aliyev
Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has stated on his Twitter microblog that he had a constructive, detailed, and effective discussion with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku.
“The results of this clear and sincere dialogue are expected to open a new chapter in the relations between the two friendly, brotherly, and neighboring countries of Iran and Azerbaijan, and to disappoint the enemies and malicious actors of both nations,” said the Iranian Foreign Minister.
It should be noted that Amir-Abdollahian participated in the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Coordinating Bureau in Baku, during which he met with Aliyev. The agenda included regional developments and bilateral relations between Baku and Tehran.
The Iranian chief diplomat emphasized that Tehran supports the peaceful resolution of disputes in the South Caucasus. Amir-Abdollahian also added that Iran supports the opening of communications in the region but again stressed that Iran is against and has always opposed changes to borders in the region. Discussions were also exchanged regarding the North-South transport corridor.
