10% of Those Detained in France Were Not Citizens
During the recent unrest in France, police and gendarmes detained 4,000 individuals, of whom 10% did not hold French citizenship. This was announced by French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin during a Senate hearing on Wednesday.
"A total of 4,000 people were arrested during the riots, with an average age of 17," Darmanin stated. "About 10% do not have French citizenship, and 60% had not previously been known to the police," he added.
According to the Minister, the age range of the detainees was between 11 and 59 years, with an average age of 17-18 years.
