Over 223 Million Euros Worth of Cocaine Seized in Spain; 13 People Arrested

The Civil Guard of Spain has dismantled the operations of a criminal group involved in the large-scale smuggling of drugs from South America to Spain. This was reported in a press release from law enforcement authorities.

It is known that the cocaine entered Spain through the port of Algeciras (in the autonomous community of Andalusia). During the operation, police detained 13 individuals who attempted to import drugs concealed in banana containers.

According to the Civil Guard, more than 6.5 tons of cocaine were seized, with a street value exceeding 233 million euros. Authorities also confiscated nearly 1.5 million euros in cash.
