Morocco Withdraws Its Ambassador from Sweden Due to Quran Burning Incident

Morocco is recalling its ambassador from Sweden following the Quran burning incident in Stockholm. This information has been reported on the website of Morocco's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"The ambassador has been recalled for consultations indefinitely," the statement said.

The source also reported that the Swedish chargé d'affaires in Morocco has been summoned to the Ministry, where he was presented with a complaint and expressed intolerance regarding this "unacceptable action."

Earlier, it was reported that the Swedish police granted permission for a protest to burn the Quran on June 28, the first day of Eid al-Adha, near the main mosque in Stockholm. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson stated that the police's decision was "legal but inappropriate."

On the same day, the protest took place as a man tore pages from the Quran, used them to wipe his shoes, then placed bacon inside the book and set it on fire.
