12 Million Rubles and Drones Seized from Wagner Group Headquarters in St. Petersburg: Details
In St. Petersburg, at the Wagner Group headquarters located on Zolnaya Street, over 12 million rubles, awards for participants in the special operation in Ukraine, and drones have been confiscated. This was reported by REN TV, citing sources.
According to the television channel, the searches at the headquarters were conducted in connection with the investigation of a criminal case concerning armed rebellion.
Sources from REN TV indicated that investigators also discovered components of a radio-hacking system, parts of anti-tank guided missiles, ammunition for machine guns, augmented reality glasses, several boxes of drones, and a mini-robot, whose functions remain unclear.
On the evening of June 23, the head of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced that the forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense had attacked the rear camps of his private military company, and his fighters were moving towards Russia on a “march for justice.” The Ministry of Defense denied his accusations, while the General Prosecutor's Office opened a case against Prigozhin for organizing an armed rebellion.
In the morning of June 24, Wagner Group forces blocked administrative buildings in Rostov-on-Don and began moving towards Moscow. President Vladimir Putin addressed the nation, describing the group's actions as a “strike from the rear.” He received support from the State Duma, the Federation Council, and several regional leaders, while Chechen “Akhmat” forces were dispatched to Rostov.
In the evening, the press service of the Belarusian president reported on negotiations between Alexander Lukashenko and Prigozhin, resulting in an agreement on an “acceptable option for stabilizing the situation, with guarantees for the safety of the group's fighters.
