It’s a Bit Difficult to Comment on Aliyev: Alen Simonyan
It’s a bit difficult to comment on Aliyev. This was stated by Alen Simonyan during a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly.
"It’s an ungrateful task to make predictions—whether it will lead to something or not. We must always be prepared that an attack can happen at any moment; this is the logic we are working with. The reforms directed towards the army are being advanced with this logic in mind," Simonyan said in response to a question regarding Azerbaijan's periodic provocations at the Armenian border and whether this could lead to large-scale military actions.
When asked whether Aliyev's militaristic rhetoric and the peace process create a contradictory impression, he noted, "Should a contradictory impression be created from the words of the leader of a neighboring country? One moment he says 'corridor,' and then claims he means everything as a corridor. One must have political knowledge to understand what is being said, and so on... it’s a bit difficult to comment on him."
