IAEA Denies Claims of Landmining at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has refuted the statement made by Ukrainian intelligence chief Kirill Budanov, claiming that Russian forces had laid mines at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, including the cooling water basin.

It was noted that no such evidence was found during the recent visit of IAEA Director Rafael Grossi.

Earlier today, it was reported that Ukrainian intelligence had information indicating that Russia was considering a scenario of terrorism at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant involving radiation release, as announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“We’ve just received a report from our intelligence and the Security Service of Ukraine that Russia is contemplating a terrorist attack scenario at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, a terrorist act involving a radiation release. They have prepared everything for this,” he stated. According to the president, all available information is being shared with international partners and organizations.
