A New Round of Armenian-Azerbaijani Negotiations to Begin Soon in the USA – Vedant Patel
A new round of negotiations aimed at establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan is scheduled to begin soon in the United States. This was announced today by Vedant Patel, spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, during a press briefing.
“We eagerly await the new round of talks in Washington, as both parties continue to strive for a peaceful future in the South Caucasus. We believe that direct dialogue is the key to resolving issues and achieving peace,” he stated during the press briefing on June 22.
When addressing Russia's involvement in the Armenian-Azerbaijani issue, Patel remarked, “If Russia assumes it can play a constructive role, then of course it may do so. We see that the negotiation process is ongoing, and the United States is a crucial partner in this, with Secretary of State Antony Blinken personally involved.”
According to Patel, the new Armenian-Azerbaijani meetings in Washington “will take place very soon.”
