The Minister of Health of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan, has addressed the humanitarian situation created in Artsakh: "All government agencies are doing everything possible to work through all channels to resolve this situation as soon as possible and restore the normal movement of people, goods, and medicines," she stated.
According to Avanesyan, the humanitarian situation is deteriorating hour by hour: "Supplies are running out. Moreover, when scheduled medical assistance is delayed, needs are not met and become urgent medical care." Avanesyan assured that they are working with their partners in Artsakh on a daily basis.
Commenting on addressing international organizations, the minister assured that they provide information on a weekly basis. She also mentioned that there are patients in Artsakh whose treatment is only possible in Armenia: "The hospital in Stepanakert is equipped and has a qualified team, but there are specialized medical fields that can only be serviced in Yerevan." She noted that these patients are not even able to be transferred with the help of the Red Cross.
