Turkey and Azerbaijan Plan to Create Unified Air Command System
Haluk Görgün, the head of Turkey's defense industry, has addressed the joint creation of the "HAKİM Air Command Control System" by Turkey and Azerbaijan. This was reported by Ermenihaber.am.
Görgün emphasized that this project is one of the most significant joint initiatives between the two countries, and he discussed the capabilities of the system, stating: "If this project is fully realized, the joint air control area will extend from the Aegean Sea to the Caspian Sea basins. In such a scenario, the air forces of both countries will be able to conduct joint operations," mentioned the head of defense production.
Additionally, referencing the slogan of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s father, Heydar Aliyev, which states "two states, one nation," he noted that this context can be reformulated as follows: "Two states, one nation, one airspace." It is also worth noting that Görgün was part of the delegation accompanying Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his official visit to Azerbaijan on June 12.
