Anomalous Heat Waves in India: 96 People Dead
Anomalous heat waves have been recorded in India over the past few days, leading to the deaths of 96 individuals. This information was reported by The Guardian.
The fatalities have occurred in both northern Uttar Pradesh and eastern Bihar. Local authorities have urged citizens over the age of 60, as well as those suffering from chronic illnesses, to remain indoors during the daytime hours.
It has also been reported that a majority of the deceased were elderly individuals. In the last three days, nearly 300 patients have been hospitalized.
The report notes that on Sunday, Uttar Pradesh recorded a maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius, exceeding the normal range.
