VIDEO: Avinyan on the Installation of Dust Measurement Devices at Construction Sites and Fines
During a procedural meeting in Yerevan, Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan proposed legal amendments to the Secretary of the Yerevan Municipality, Shavarsh Grigoryan. He noted that the issue of dust has been discussed multiple times, alongside the question of installing devices to measure air quality.
“I believe our main objective should be based on the outcomes of inspections, rather than simply checking if someone has set up the network or not. We need to mandate that appropriate devices be installed near construction sites, placed by the builders themselves but monitored by us. Based on the information from the measuring devices, we can then decide whether to fine the constructor or not. We need to install a device that measures dust levels near the construction site; if it authorizes levels exceeding permissible limits during the week, they get fined. This should be the logic,” Avinyan stated.
