Azerbaijan to Increase Defense and Security Spending by an Additional $650 Million
In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will allocate an additional $650 million from the budget to strengthen defense capability and national security. This was reported by TASS, citing the press service of the country’s Ministry of Finance.
“An additional 1.11 billion manats is planned to be allocated for the enhancement of the country’s defense capability and national security, including 1 billion manats ($588 million) for special projects and defense measures,” the agency’s website states.
According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance, after the increase, spending on special projects and defense measures will amount to $1.81 billion.
