Macron: The Kishinev Summit Will Provide Us the Opportunity to Support Negotiations Between Yerevan and Baku
French President Emmanuel Macron believes that the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on June 1 in Kishinev will allow for continued exchange of views on the situation in the South Caucasus and support peaceful negotiations between Baku and Yerevan.
“I would be happy to meet with you again on June 1 at the summit in Kishinev, which will allow us to continue exchanging views on the challenges facing the South Caucasus and our continent. I hope, as in Prague, this summit will also give us the opportunity to support the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The visit of European and Foreign Affairs Minister Catherine Colonna to Baku on April 26-27 provided an opportunity to see our mutual desire to develop bilateral relations, and this pleases me. It also served as a reminder of France's commitment to establishing a just and lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which is essential for the stability and well-being of the entire region,” Macron wrote.
