Ukraine's expectations of aligning with European Union countries and other Western nations have not materialized, bringing it closer to Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Yemen. This was announced by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

On his Telegram channel, the politician published an image regarding the disparity between expectations and reality, captioning it: "You will soon be one of us." The expectations depict Ukraine's image among the US, UK, EU, and NATO, while the reality shows an image placing Ukraine among countries that have experienced significant conflicts.
