South Korea Has No Plans to Send Ammunition to Ukraine

The issue of providing military assistance to Ukraine by Seoul will be considered after assessing the on-site situation, stated South Korea's National Security Advisor Cho Tae-yong.

“So far, we have provided humanitarian and financial aid to Ukraine. (...) We intend to consider that (the possibility of providing military assistance) in light of constantly monitoring the situation on the ground and under other circumstances,” Yonhap quoted Cho Tae-yong as saying.

At the same time, as the agency notes, the National Security Advisor made it clear that there are currently no plans to send ammunition to Ukraine either directly or via Poland.

President Yoon Suk-yeol met for the first time with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Hiroshima, Japan, during the G7 summit this Sunday, promising additional assistance that includes demining equipment and ambulances.
