Photos: Armenian Inscribed Tombstones Discovered in Tbilisi

In the Mtatsminda district of Tbilisi, fragments of tombstones inscribed in Armenian have been discovered, which were used as stairs for a school. This information was published on the Facebook page of the "Armenian Community of Georgia."

The tombstones were uncovered during rehabilitation work at the site of the former Number 44 public school located at 10 Ritsa Street.

Levon Chidilyan, a public figure who has studied the findings on-site for several days, believes that these tombstones originated from the Khodzhivank Cemetery, the main Armenian cemetery in Tbilisi, which was destroyed in the 1930s and subsequently used as building materials.

The statement notes that some of the inscriptions on the stones are well-preserved.
