Lavrov Addresses Decisions Made at G7 Summit
The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, has announced that the decisions made at the G7 summit are aimed at double containment of Russia and China. The diplomat stated this at the 31st Assembly of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy (SVOP), as reported by TASS.
"The decisions being discussed and adopted at the G7 summit in Hiroshima today are aimed at double containment of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China," said Russia's Foreign Minister.
Japan is presiding over the G7 this year and is hosting the summit in Hiroshima from May 19 to May 21. It was previously reported that the G7 countries have urged China to exert pressure on Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine. It was also reported that the leaders of the G7 countries collectively stated their opposition to China's militarization in the South China Sea.
