EU Has Lost Its Subjectivity and Fallen Into Complete Dependence on the US, Lavrov Says

The United States has utilized the situation created in Ukraine to completely subordinate Western countries to its will, stated Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“Washington leveraged the Ukrainian crisis to unite its camp. We can see this. However, this unification resembles the total submission of everyone to its will. A fault line has also emerged between collective Western countries and the global majority, particularly the countries of the South and East,” Lavrov said at the 31st session of the Council for Foreign and Defense Policy.

“An obsession with one's own greatness will undoubtedly lead to a very complicated situation in international relations,” Lavrov emphasized. He concluded that the European Union has completely lost its subjectivity and has fallen into total dependence on the United States.
