Denmark Ready to Train Ukrainian Pilots on F-16 Fighter Jets
Denmark is prepared to train Ukrainian pilots to operate F-16 fighter jets, announced Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, according to Western media.
The minister's statement follows remarks from US President Joe Biden regarding support for programs to train Ukrainian pilots.
Earlier, on May 19, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte also welcomed the United States' willingness to approve the training of Ukrainian pilots.
“Together with our British, Danish, and Belgian partners, we welcome the news that the United States is ready to approve the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets. The training process will be developed in the coming weeks. Ukraine can count on the unwavering support of the Netherlands and its international partners,” Rutte wrote on social media.
A senior official from the US administration stated during the G7 meeting in Hiroshima that the training program should commence within a few weeks and the instruction will take place in Europe. Meanwhile, NATO allies will later decide how many aircraft will be involved and who will provide them.
