Social Affairs Minister: "Increase the program budget by an additional 300 million drams"
The state support program for housing security for families with children has exceeded the government’s forecasts. This was announced today, May 18, during a government meeting by Armenia’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan.
According to him, the budget allocated for 2023 has already been exhausted, necessitating an increase in the program's budget by an additional 300 million drams.
"The budget approved for this year is 1 billion 291 million drams, which has been proportionately distributed by quarters. However, the program continues to see high demand, and as of April 30, a total of 957 beneficiaries have already received support, amounting to approximately 643 million drams. Additionally, the applications of another 320 beneficiaries have been approved and are awaiting payment, with a total of 300 million drams to be disbursed," the minister stated.
Mkrtchyan also reported that since the program's launch in 2021, a total of 6,409 beneficiaries have utilized it, amounting to 4 billion 345 million drams.
