Former French President to Serve House Arrest

The Paris Court of Appeal has ruled that former French President Nicolas Sarkozy can serve his sentence at home with an electronic bracelet instead of a year of imprisonment, reports BFMTV.

Today, the Paris Court of Appeal sentenced the former leader to three years in prison in the "wiretapping case", with two of those years suspended. This is an unprecedented ruling in French history involving a sitting or former president.

It is worth recalling that the former French president is accused of corruption and embezzlement of public funds.
