Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had an informal meeting in Brussels with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. The information was reported by the government of Armenia.
The two discussed the prevailing geopolitical and humanitarian situation in the region.
Prime Minister Pashinyan addressed the situation created by the provocative and aggressive actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia in recent days, which are aimed at disrupting efforts to continue peace negotiations.
They discussed the humanitarian crisis created in Artsakh due to Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor, as well as matters related to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The upcoming trilateral meeting scheduled for April 14, involving the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of the European Council, and the President of Azerbaijan, was also mentioned, highlighting the importance of a five-party meeting with the participation of French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on June 1 in Chișinău during the European Political Community summit.
