82.5% of Votes Counted: Erdoğan Calls on Supporters Not to Leave Polling Stations
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called on his supporters not to leave the polling stations until final results are announced.
It is noteworthy that the results of the presidential election in Turkey have been released following the processing of 82.5% of the ballots, according to which 50.3% of voters supported Erdoğan, while 43.9% backed Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
“The fact that the elections held on May 14 took place in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility is a manifestation of our Turkey’s democratic maturity. While the elections passed in such a positive and democratic environment, and the counting of votes continues, attempts to hastily announce results signify the usurpation of the people's will,” Erdoğan stated.
