Gegharkunik Regional Administration Denies Reports of Citizen Evacuations

On May 11, starting from 06:00, Azerbaijani Armed Forces units opened fire from artillery and mortar systems towards Armenian positions located in the direction of Sotk. Currently, the situation at the front line is relatively stable, as stated in a declaration released by the staff of the Gegharkunik Regional Administration of Armenia.

“Some media outlets have spread misinformation claiming that evacuations of citizens have been carried out. This information is not true. No evacuations have taken place from any settlement, and there is currently no need for evacuation,” the statement reads.

It is also noted that the situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is relatively stable and is under full control of the Armenian Armed Forces. “Follow official news and do not disseminate panic-inducing misinformation. In the event of any changes in the situation, the Ministry of Defense will issue a statement,” the message concludes.

Recall that today, Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire towards Armenian positions in the Sotk area.
