Footage circulating online shows the situation in Islamabad, with audible gunfire in the background. Reports indicate that protesters have set fire to a police station, a police armored vehicle, and several private cars. Law enforcement has stated that participants in the unrest opened fire.

Protests have erupted in cities across Pakistan following the arrest of former Prime Minister and opposition leader Imran Khan, head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party.
