VIDEO: 1.7 Million Attend Erdoğan's Pre-Election Rally

More than 1.7 million people attended Erdoğan's pre-election rally in Istanbul. The show of support for the country's leader, organized by his ruling party, the Justice and Development Party (AKP), took place in National Park, located on the grounds of the former Atatürk International Airport. Enhanced security measures were implemented, and police searched everyone on the way to the rally.

This 'people's' display of support demonstrated that Erdoğan remains a favorite in the presidential race. The Turkish opposition, led by unified candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, disagreed with the estimates provided, claiming that only 277,000 people were present.
