«This project will not please either the West or China» - Kilicdaroglu
The main opponent of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the leader of the Republican People's Party and the opposition "Nation Alliance", Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, has announced the creation of a highway and railway project that will connect Turkey with Turkic states and China, as reported today by the Abbas Djuma Telegram channel.
According to Kılıçdaroğlu, this project will not please either the West or China. He also presented a formula that was previously formulated in post-revolutionary Iran: "Neither West nor East, this is the Turk's path."
There are no specifics regarding the cost and timelines of the project. Additionally, Turkish journalist Ragıp Soylu noted that Kılıçdaroğlu used the term "Turkestan" to describe the region where the Uyghurs live.
