Aliyev Announces Establishment of Bayraktar Center in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev announced during the Teknofest technology festival held in Istanbul on April 29, that a Bayraktar center of the Turkish military company Baykar will be established in Azerbaijan. Aliyev specifically noted that the agreement was reached when Selcuk Bayraktar, the director of Baykar, visited Baku in early April.

“We have agreed on the establishment of a Bayraktar center in Azerbaijan. The center will be founded soon, and it will engage in educational and production activities,” Aliyev stated.

During this visit, Selcuk Bayraktar presented Aliyev with a model of the company’s new product, the Kızıl Elma, or “Red Apple.” It is a jet-powered, supersonic unmanned combat aerial vehicle capable of flying at low altitudes, making it difficult to detect. “I hope that in the near future, the Kızıl Elma will also be in Azerbaijan’s skies,” Aliyev declared.
