“Don’t turn our boys into aborigines, girls will soon serve next to them and eat raw” - Bichakhchyan
The former head of the Khvizaner administration, Mnacakal Bichakhchyan, has commented on the proposal to implement a system of compulsory military service for female representatives on a voluntary basis. He shared his personal experience.
“During my years at the Police Academy, girls studied and served alongside us. Those of us who served in the army stayed in the barracks for one year, while those who did not serve stayed for two; the girls did not remain in the barracks. All of us wore uniforms equally and served together, and most of them were respectable, well-mannered, and came from good families. It is pointless to ridicule or mock the idea of opening a maternity ward in the barracks. The model of female service has always existed in Armenia. Instead, I suggest that girls serve alongside boys without staying overnight in the barracks. It is not necessary for the boys to turn into 'bread eaters', 'blue-collars', 'figures', or 'fleshers'. Don’t turn our boys into aborigines, soon girls will serve alongside them and eat raw. On the contrary, they will be more restrained and disciplined,” he stated.
