As previously reported, on April 16, 2023, around 1:00 PM, a 74-year-old woman and her 36-year-old son checked into a hotel on Seykaretsi Sakoy Street in Yerevan. One hour later, during a dispute between them, the son physically assaulted his mother and subsequently cut her neck with a knife.
Afterward, he attempted to escape by jumping from the hotel's fourth-floor balcony but was discovered injured in the hotel courtyard with the knife in hand and was apprehended. Both the mother and son were transported to medical centers.
Based on sufficient evidence obtained, the 36-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder against his mother under Article 44-155, Part 2, Clause 9 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.

The court granted the motion, and the accused was transferred to a correctional facility. The investigation is ongoing to clarify all the circumstances surrounding the crime.
Notice: A person accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia by a legally binding court judgment.
