Russian Foreign Ministry Responds to Prosperous Armenia Secretary's Statement

The Russian Federation's Foreign Ministry has responded to the statement made by Arthur Hovhannisyan, a member of parliament from the Civil Contract party, regarding claims that the ministry had requested explanations from Armenia regarding participation in U.S.-led exercises in Europe, noting that the Armenian parliament member himself is surprised by the formulation he created.

According to 24news, the statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry highlighted, "In response to the comments made by the secretary of the ruling faction in the Armenian parliament, Arthur Hovhannisyan, who stated that he does not understand the demands from Russia for an explanation concerning the Armenian side's participation in the exercises conducted by the United States in Europe, we emphasize that he is clearly relying on a formulation of his own design, and he himself is surprised by it."

The Russian Foreign Ministry reminds that the official representative of the agency, Maria Zakharova, merely stated that the Russian side had sought a formal explanation from Armenia regarding participation in NATO exercises. "Our response will follow after we receive an answer," she noted.
