South Korea Bans Its Citizens from Traveling to Armenia-Azerbaijan Border Region

South Korea has today announced a ban on its citizens traveling to the border region between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was reported by the Yonhap news agency, citing a statement from the country's Foreign Ministry.

According to the statement released by South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the travel advisory level has been raised to the highest level, level 4. The ban will take effect on Saturday, April 15.

As reported by Yonhap, a level 3 travel advisory was in place since August 2020. The ministry has decided to elevate this level due to the ongoing armed clashes in the region.

It has also been reported that the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Japan have also prohibited their citizens from traveling to the area.
