Negotiations Underway in Samarkand Between Foreign Ministers of Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan
The Foreign Ministers of Russia, China, Iran, and the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Pakistan are holding a meeting in Samarkand. This was reported by the Interfax agency.
Before the meeting began, Sergey Lavrov, Qin Gang, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and Rabban Khar posed for a group photo, after which the discussions continued in a closed format.
The ministerial conference of neighboring countries of Afghanistan is taking place in Samarkand on April 13, with the participation of the foreign ministers of Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Lavrov arrived in Samarkand the day before.
In addition to the Afghanistan-focused conference, on April 14, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry will participate in a consultation of the CIS foreign ministers and a ministerial meeting in the Russia-Central Asia format.
