Anahit Manasyan Elected as the Ombudsman of Armenia
Anahit Manasyan has been elected as the Human Rights Defender of Armenia. A total of 69 members of the National Assembly participated in yesterday's closed and secret ballot, with 69 votes in favor of Manasyan and none against.
The voting took place yesterday; however, due to heightened border tensions, a scheduled extraordinary session in the evening was canceled, and the results were only presented today.
Thus, Anahit Manasyan becomes the sixth Human Rights Defender of Armenia.
