Brazilian President Proposes Ukraine Cede Crimea to Russia for Peace
The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, has stated that for "the sake of peace in the world," Ukraine should cede the Crimean Peninsula to Russia. He believes this could bring an end to the large-scale war. He expressed this opinion during a meeting with journalists on April 6. His remarks were reported by Le Figaro and conveyed by obozrevatel.com.
Da Silva specifically admitted that Russian leader Vladimir Putin cannot seize Ukrainian territory. Therefore, he suggests that Kyiv should consider making concessions and engage in talks about Crimea, which has been occupied since 2014.
“Perhaps we will discuss the Crimea issue, but the fact that he (note: Putin) has launched additional invasions must be reviewed. Zelensky cannot wish for everything ... The world needs peace ... We must find a solution,” stated the Brazilian president.
