VIDEO: China's President Receives Macron
China's President Xi Jinping has received French President Emmanuel Macron. They will hold talks today on key international issues, particularly focusing on the Ukrainian crisis. Macron is in Beijing for a three-day official visit.
Before the talks commenced, the French president tweeted in three languages—French, English, and Chinese—expressing confidence in China's leading role in building peace, which he plans to discuss.
The negotiations were preceded by an official welcoming ceremony. A statement to the press is expected, after which European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will join the leaders.
