Explosion in St. Petersburg Café: Casualties Reported, Military Commentator Killed

An explosion has occurred at the "Street Bar" café in St. Petersburg. According to emergency services, one person has died as a result of the incident on April 2.

The explosion claimed the life of military commentator Vladlen Tatarsky (real name Maxim Fomin). Reports indicate that 25 people were injured, including one child. Nineteen of them have been hospitalized at City Clinical Hospital No. 16, with five in serious condition. Five others received treatment and were allowed to return home.

At the time of the explosion, the establishment was hosting a creative evening featuring Vladlen Tatarsky. According to one theory, the explosive device was hidden inside a figurine gifted to Tatarsky by an event participant. Law enforcement has stated that the device had a power equivalent to more than 200 grams of TNT.

It is suggested that the explosive device was brought in by a girl. A witness to the explosion told "Izvestia" that the girl presented Tatarsky with a figurine during the creative evening, which later detonated. Media reports indicate that the girl who gifted the figurine is also in a hospital in St. Petersburg in moderate condition.
