The Situation in Artsakh is Pregnant with Serious Destabilization: CSTO Secretary General
The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Imangali Tasmagambetov, has stated that the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh remains tense, posing a risk of destabilization in CSTO member countries.
“Tensions in the Caucasus region persist due to long-standing conflicts between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Due to the risks associated with the situation in Artsakh and on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the situation is pregnant with serious destabilization,” Tasmagambetov said during an extended meeting of the CSTO secretariat and joint staff on Friday.
He emphasized that the CSTO is constantly working on improving mechanisms to address both existing and emerging challenges and threats.
