“Let Him Go” – Biden Commented on the Arrest of WSJ Reporter
Journalist Evan Gershkovich has been detained in Yekaterinburg near the Uralvagonzavod military factory while allegedly gathering espionage information about the Russian defense industry. The Basman Court in Moscow has ordered his detention for two months under the espionage article, as reported by the Readovka Telegram channel.
Gershkovich's colleagues and his lawyer have already commented on the situation, claiming they were unable to familiarize themselves with the case but asserting the journalist's innocence. Now, U.S. President Joe Biden has started to intervene in the situation, publicly calling for the release of the detainee. So far, there has been no response from the Russian side.
