Hagop Babayan, the head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology at the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport, who was assaulted by student Albert Nikolyan, is the son of Hayk Babayan, Deputy Chief of the RA Police and Commander of the Internal Troops.

This information was provided to 24News by Astghik Martirosyan, the head of the institute's Public and Institutional Relations Department.

Regarding how the incident occurred, Martirosyan said that a special session of the ethics committee is scheduled to address this matter. “The ethics committee will hear the issue within a 3-day period. A relevant report has already been submitted by the dean regarding the convening of the committee session. The details of the incident will be revealed at the special meeting of the committee,” she concluded.
