VIDEO: 'The ruling party rejected our initiative regarding the situation around Artsakh,' Andranik Tevanyan
Member of the 'Armenia' faction Andranik Tevanyan presented the 'Statement of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia regarding Azerbaijan's military-political aggression against the Republic of Artsakh, its terrorist and provocative actions, and the closure of the Lachin corridor.' The draft received a negative conclusion from the Foreign Relations Committee.
'Artsakh has been under blockade for 100 days now. The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia condemns the blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan, which has been ongoing since December 3 and December 12, 2022, leading to a severe crisis and existential problems for 120 citizens. Azerbaijan's criminal actions contradict the sixth point of the trilateral statement. Azerbaijan is not complying with the International Court of Justice's decision from February 22, 2023,' stated Tevanyan, emphasizing that Artsakh cannot be part of Azerbaijan.
The draft was put to a vote and was not accepted. 'The ruling party rejected our initiative, thus confirming that there was a significant deception during the 2021 National Assembly elections, as they promised in their election program to pursue the realization of Artsakh's right to self-determination,' Tevanyan declared.
