New Rector Appointed at Brusov University: Students Declare Strike
The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Service at V. Brusov State University, Tsolak Akopyan, wrote on his Facebook page: “Another violation by the ministry. I invite all journalists, students, and staff to the large hall of Brusov University at 11:00 AM. Disregarding the university's Charter and the opinion of the collective, Davit Gyurjinyan has been appointed as the acting rector.”
However, students at Brusov University are against this appointment and have declared a strike today. It is worth recalling that on December 9, 2022, during the rector elections at Brusov University, a criminal case was initiated regarding hooliganism that occurred in the university's administrative building. It was revealed that G. T., who held the position of chief advisor to the rector of V. Brusov State University, displayed disrespect towards the public and openly disregarded legal and moral norms by loudly uttering indecent expressions and insults within the university's administrative building.
On December 27, 2022, the supervising prosecutor initiated criminal proceedings against G. T., and a restriction measure was imposed upon him, including a prohibition on leaving the country and suspension from office.
