Tigran Abrahamyan: I Am Convinced That Very Few People in Armenia Have an Idea of What This Means

Member of the National Assembly from the 'Honorable' faction, Tigran Abrahamyan writes:

“For three months now, Artsakh has been under blockade. I am convinced that very few people in Armenia have an idea of what this means, what serious consequences it brings, and what kind of blows it strikes to life. I am not even talking about the looming threat of war. Very few people can comprehend it because to feel, assess, and understand it rightly, one must at least briefly find themselves in the same situation. Any of us, any region, town, or village in Armenia could have found themselves in such circumstances, but it is Artsakh that has. I still see a possibility of getting out of this situation, and it must first and foremost start from Artsakh.

This is not just a statement made in the air: in Artsakh, personal ambitions, petty clan games, battles for office, and the struggle for personal well-being need to be set aside, focusing exclusively on the salvation of Artsakh.

The path to struggle and victory is certainly very complicated, but to achieve it, it is necessary to follow a leader capable of making rational and cool-headed decisions, someone whom the people of Artsakh will trust and believe, and finally, this must be a person who can ensure maximum consensus within the country.

Those who have already lost within themselves, who have surrendered internally, and those who have exhausted themselves must simply step aside and not interfere. The right to self-determination of Artsakh has no alternative, and everything necessary should be built upon it.”
