Residents Protest Outside Former Ministry of Defense Building
Residents of the former Ministry of Defense building are holding a protest in front of the State Revenue Committee. One of the residents spoke with journalists, expressing their concerns:
“Why were we evicted from our homes, why was the electricity cut off, and why are the residents still in an uncertain situation? Where have they been until now? If it is state property, then why did they previously allow us to enter? Why did they wait for two years while people created and lived there, only to later rob and expel them?”
When asked where they are currently living, the resident stated: “We are now living in the street in front of the former Ministry of Defense building, under tents. We will fight to return. Up to this point, we have appealed to both the court and the ministry regarding this issue, but have yet to receive any response.”
It is worth remembering that a decision by the government on April 15, 2022, reinforced the connection of the former Ministry of Defense building to the State Revenue Committee, aiming to transform it into an external economic activity center.
