Marukyan Responds to Hajiyev
“I must again remind you that since the end of World War II, fundamental human rights and freedoms, as well as the safety of thousands of people, are not considered internal issues.” This statement was made by Armenia's special envoy Edmon Marukyan on his Twitter microblog, responding to the recent interview and claims of Hikmet Hajiyev, the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, regarding the security and rights of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh and the assertion that there would be no international mechanisms to ensure their safety and rights, as this was an internal matter for Azerbaijan.
