Photos: Collision between Gyumri-Yerevan Electric Train and Passenger Car

The South Caucasian Railway Company’s press service reported that on March 11, around 10:30, the company’s Gyumri-Yerevan electric train collided with a Volkswagen passenger car in the Ejmiadzin-Masis section.

As a result of the accident, the electric train was delayed by 1 hour and 15 minutes. It is evident that the driver of the passenger car ignored the prohibitory signals and warning signs of the automated crossing lights, jeopardizing public safety and causing material damage to the company.

The South Caucasian Railway Company urges the public to adhere to traffic rules when crossing railway tracks to avoid harm to public health and company property. The company also apologizes to the train passengers for the incident, which occurred due to circumstances beyond its control.
