Home Arrest Applied to Director of Chemotherapy Department at the National Center of Oncology

According to the Anti-Corruption Court's decision today, on March 11, an alternative preventive measure of home arrest has been applied to the director of the Chemotherapy Department at the National Center of Oncology. This was announced by Marina Ohanyan, spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption Committee.

It is noteworthy that yesterday, on March 10, the National Security Service (NSS) conducted a search in the office of Deputy Mayor Gevorg Simonian. He was later arrested.

According to the ongoing investigation by the Anti-Corruption Committee, Gevorg Simonian, during his tenure as Deputy Minister of Health from 2020 to 2022, failed to perform his official duties due to personal interests, causing significant damage to the legitimate interests of the state.

Today, Babken Shahumyan, the director of Medline Clinic LLC, has also been arrested, bringing the total number of arrested individuals to 8. The request to detain Deputy Mayor Gevorg Simonian is currently under consideration.
